Description

• As a Backend Web Software Engineer at Scythe, you'll play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining our web services that power our customer-facing applications, enabling our customers to get the best from their robot fleets. Scythe's machines are out in the field helping humanity take better care of the world, and the web services you'll build are the backbone of those operations, enabling fleet management, planning, billing, debugging, and all of the other crucial happenings that lead to the success of our mission. • You'll work in concert with teammates from across the company to build a rich understanding of product needs and bring those ideas to life. Your expertise in back-end technologies and how they interact with front-end frameworks will be instrumental in creating robust, scalable, and user-friendly software solutions that will supercharge our customers' robot fleets and help Scythe realize its big mission.

Requirements

• Professional backend web software development • Django/Django REST Framework and PostgreSQL • Python with experience with data pipelines built to feed web application data sources that have run on Airflow, Dagster, or Luigi • GraphQL, especially Apollo GraphQL • CI/CD pipelines, containerization (e.g., Docker), and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) for deploying and managing web applications • How to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, leveraging interpersonal skills • Front-end development in React/Next.js • Worked with robots and/or robot applications using ROS • Worked on a Data Platform team to move land data in to application databases • Led a small team of Full Stack Web developers • Mentored a team of software engineers, driving technical excellence and fostering a collaborative environment • Worked in a large scale web application deployed on AWS
