📋 Description

• Prepare and lodge accurate Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS) • Reconcile GST and payroll liabilities and ensure compliance with ATO regulations • Maintain accurate financial records and full sets of accounts across a portfolio of clients • Manage fixed assets, journals, and reporting using cloud systems such as Xero and Dext • Oversee accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing, collections, payments, and supplier/client account reconciliation • Collaborate with bookkeeping and tax teams to ensure accurate transaction recording and ledger integrity • Assist with monthly management accounts and financial reports • Provide clients with clear, actionable financial insights • Provide payroll support and advise clients on day-to-day accounting needs • Maintain adherence to Australian regulatory standards

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience as an Accountant within Australian Accounting • Experience preparing and lodging BAS and IAS • Knowledge of GST and payroll liability reconciliation • Knowledge of ATO regulations and Australian regulatory standards • Experience maintaining full sets of accounts • Experience with Xero and Dext • Experience with fixed asset management, journals, and financial reporting • Experience overseeing accounts payable and accounts receivable • Payroll support experience • Strong client communication and advisory skills • Ability to identify, diagnose, and resolve production issues quickly • Strong infrastructure and development skills for post-incident reviews • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple complex workstreams • Analytical, structured, data-driven, and problem-solving mindset • Collaboration skills with cross-functional teams • AI readiness and curiosity, including identifying practical AI applications • Consent to required background screening, which may include education, criminal history, political exposure, and bankruptcy/adverse credit checks
