📋 Description

• Design scalable end-to-end architectures for AI applications such as RAG pipelines and multi-agent systems • Plan the integration of AI architectures into existing IT landscapes • Design and independently build functional prototypes (PoCs) • Co-design the technical concept and logical structure of in-house software tools • Independently evaluate tech stacks and clearly communicate trade-offs • Take technical leadership in projects • Translate business requirements into technical blueprints • Coordinate communication with clients' internal IT departments • Own concepts for testing, monitoring and guardrails • Embed compliance-by-design together with ethics and legal expertise, including the EU AI Act and data protection • Support the founding team in pitches • Translate client requests into feasible technical concepts and define technological boundaries • Make make-or-buy decisions • Assess technical capabilities and the need for internal team scaling • Provide technical sparring for the founding team • Contribute to hiring and structuring the future engineering team

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in software engineering, systems architecture or data/ML engineering • Demonstrable hands-on experience with production GenAI systems in recent years • Experience with LLMs, RAG architectures and agent-based/multi-agent patterns • Proficient in Python and familiar with LangChain, LlamaIndex, LangGraph and MCP • Experience with cloud infrastructures (AWS, Azure, GCP) and on-premise setups • Experience working on client engagements or closely with customers • Ability to translate complex deep-tech topics for C-level, business units and committees • Fluent German and English (business proficiency) • Strong sense of feasibility and ability to estimate required resources • Willingness to potentially take on leadership of a growing engineering team • Inner drive for “Good AI. Good Work.”, digital sovereignty, fair distribution of productivity gains and co-determination • Nice to have: experience in regulated or sensitive contexts • Nice to have: deeper MLOps experience • Nice to have: experience in pre-sales / solution strategy for pitches • Nice to have: open-source contributions or relevant publications
