Description
• design and build the next generation of Profile Platforms (Identity, Data Lake, etc.), process billions of events, and power various use cases across Twilio Data and Applications • build high-performance data pipelines using Go, Scala/Spark, and Kafka • build highly scalable and robust APIs to ingest and access data for internal teams and customers • experience working with data platforms or data pipelines • build and optimize globally available and highly scalable distributed systems • collaborate with teams across the engineering organization to ensure services are multi-region capable and meet regulatory requirements • mentor other engineers on the team on technical architecture and design • participate in an on-call rotation to support our business-critical Tire 0 services
Requirements
• 6+ years of experience writing production-grade code in Golang, Java, or Scala • strong hands-on experience in designing and implementing highly available, fault-tolerant, and performant distributed systems • experience operating large-scale distributed systems on top of cloud infrastructure • proficiency in programming with one or more of the following: Go, Java, Scala, or similar languages • hands-on experience with container orchestration frameworks (e.g., Kubernetes, EKS, ECS) • deep understanding of architectural patterns for high-scale web applications (e.g., well-designed APIs, high-volume data pipelines, efficient algorithms) • experience shipping services (products) following the CI/CD development paradigm • excellent written and verbal communication skills
