📋 Description

• Design, build, and ship web applications and APIs on Microsoft Azure, from the database to the user interface • Turn working prototypes into production applications with automated tests, monitoring, security, and a release plan • Build AI-powered features on large language models, including document intake, search, and assistants, within AI governance standards • Connect applications to Salesforce, Workday, and Microsoft 365 through their APIs • Design data models and services that reporting and other teams can rely on • Run day-to-day development by planning work, breaking it into tasks, reviewing code, and clearing blockers • Mentor developers and review contractor and overseas work before it ships • Set standards for source control, code review, automated testing, CI/CD, and documentation • Work with business owners to shape requests into clear, buildable requirements with honest estimates • Report progress in plain terms • Own applications after launch, including deployments, performance, fixes, and user feedback • Work directly with the VP of Technology on what gets built and in what order

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience • 6+ years building and shipping web applications, working on both the front end and the back end • 2+ years as a tech lead or senior developer guiding others: design decisions, code reviews, and mentoring • Strong in at least one back-end language (C#/.NET, TypeScript/Node.js, or Python) • Experience with a modern front-end framework such as React • Relational database design, SQL, and REST API development • Microsoft Azure (App Service, Functions, Azure SQL) or another major cloud platform • CI/CD and source control in GitHub or Azure DevOps • Automated testing, application monitoring, and secure coding practices • Effective use of AI coding assistants, with the judgment to check what they produce • Ability to explain technical choices and trade-offs clearly to non-technical people • Ability to lead by example and write code the team wants to follow • Comfort owning outcomes on a small team with a long list of requests
