📋 Description

• Serve as an experienced individual contributor within a team • Support scope, schedule, and delivery requirements with minimal leadership oversight • Contribute to the program’s development strategy and long-term goals • Demonstrate technical expertise, accountability, and ownership of application codebase contributions • Coordinate integrations and dependencies across adjacent technical areas, systems, and ecosystems • Design, develop, test, maintain, and improve high-quality software across front-end and/or back-end systems • Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues and identify system and process improvements from incidents and lessons learned • Mentor and support junior and mid-level engineers • Communicate technical concepts, issues, risks, and developments to team members, clients, and stakeholders • Participate in technical interviews and evaluate engineering candidates • Propose, evaluate, and recommend approaches to technical and process challenges • Lead small projects, technical initiatives, or temporary team structures • Develop and present design documents, system diagrams, technical recommendations, and other engineering artifacts

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of professional software engineering experience • Relevant professional experience may be substituted for education where permitted • Expert-level knowledge in at least one technical discipline, including front-end, back-end, full-stack, or infrastructure engineering • Experience designing, developing, testing, and maintaining production software applications • Experience troubleshooting complex technical issues and contributing to scalable, maintainable software solutions • Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to technical and non-technical audiences • Experience providing technical guidance, mentorship, or peer support to other engineers • Must meet applicable contractual or labor category requirements related to education and professional experience • Experience across front-end and back-end technologies in a full-stack environment • Experience designing, building, and maintaining modern web applications and APIs • Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue • Experience with back-end technologies such as Java, Python, Node.js, or similar languages and frameworks • Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and modern software development practices • Experience working in Agile or iterative development environments • Experience mentoring engineers or providing technical guidance within a development team • Experience collaborating directly with clients, product teams, designers, and other technical stakeholders • Experience supporting government or federal programs • Familiarity with accessibility, security, performance, and scalable application design practices
