⢠Manage, troubleshoot, and tune cybersecurity tools and sensors, including SIEM, SOAR, analysis, enrichment, alerting, and forensic data retention systems ⢠Select, test, deploy, and tune on-premises and cloud-based technical environments supporting infrastructure visibility, analysis, automation, and secure data retention ⢠Guide policy decisions and manage security policies and configurations for firewalls, endpoint detection and response suites, vulnerability detection tools, and cloud-based monitoring and incident response tools ⢠Develop workflows, integrations, and automated tasks that maximize cybersecurity tool capabilities ⢠Lead, design, and perform infrastructure, application, and network tests and exercises to evaluate security defense strategies and tools ⢠Lead IT Services project teams integrating network and endpoint security products with enrichment, analysis, and system management platforms ⢠Create and maintain architectural documentation and operational procedures for cybersecurity operations tools and environments ⢠Lead projects improving NLR's cybersecurity program, including workflow improvements, automation expansion, management tool enhancements, strategic initiatives, and user awareness training
⢠Relevant Bachelor's Degree and 9 or more years of experience, or relevant Master's Degree and 7 or more years of experience, or relevant PhD and 4 or more years of experience, or equivalent relevant education/experience ⢠Must meet educational requirements prior to employment start date ⢠Training-specific experience or training/certifications with Splunk administration is required ⢠Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE L/Q Security Clearance ⢠U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances for clearance eligibility ⢠Must be able to obtain and maintain a federal Personal Identity Verification (PIV) card ⢠Favorable background investigation required for PIV card ⢠Must pass a pre-employment drug test ⢠Extensive IS expertise in the specific field and full knowledge of related disciplines ⢠Ability to evaluate hardware, software, systems tools, and applications and make procurement recommendations ⢠Excellent leadership and project management skills ⢠Analytical techniques, practices, and problem-solving skills ⢠Extensive programming and architecture abilities with various computer software programs and information systems ⢠Preferred: at least seven years in an Information Technology role involving security engineering ⢠Preferred: one or more professional security and/or systems engineering certifications, such as GIAC, Security+, or CISSP ⢠Preferred: Windows and Linux administration, TCP/IP networking, Bash, network protocols and architecture, and defense-in-depth ⢠Preferred: experience managing and troubleshooting network- and host-based security tools and significant infrastructure in a production environment ⢠Preferred: cybersecurity engineering subject matter expertise ⢠Preferred: intermediate scripting/programming, preferably Python ⢠Splunk SIEM and Cortex XSOAR experience or certifications are a plus ⢠Cloud security architecture and event collection/aggregation understanding are a plus
