📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and backend queries populating the semantic layer • Maintain separation between raw, clean, and reporting layers • Own data modeling and semantic-layer architecture end to end, including structure, relationships, storage mode, and refresh behavior • Author, maintain, and performance-tune the DAX measure layer • Implement and maintain data frameworks and architectures for consistent, accurate, usable data • Produce and maintain model documentation • Combine, optimize, and manage multiple upstream data sources • Partner with business intelligence and data engineering teams on source changes, deployment practices, and development-to-production promotion • Serve as technical point of contact for model issues and own investigations through root cause and fix • Perform on-demand complex data analysis to identify strategic opportunities and efficiencies • Mentor apprentice team members working on model quality assurance and report migration, and review their work • Contribute to applied AI efforts, including agent-based access to model documentation and semantic models

🎯 Requirements

• Strong SQL, including T-SQL, sufficient to write, review, and debug production analytical queries • Python sufficient to build and maintain data transformation notebooks • DAX, including measure authoring, performance tuning, and evaluation context • Demonstrated experience owning a large, centralized semantic model or semantic layer, or equivalent analytical data product • Experience working with data engineering and business intelligence partners on shared infrastructure • Ability to make and defend architectural decisions independently and explain tradeoffs to technical and business audiences • Preferred: Microsoft Fabric experience (pipelines, lakehouses, warehouse, Direct Lake semantic models) • Preferred: Tabular Editor • Preferred: Marketing measurement or attribution background • Preferred: Insurance industry experience • Preferred: Experience building or operating data quality frameworks • 3 or more years of experience (preferred) • Must submit to a background investigation • Allstate generally does not sponsor individuals for employment-based visas for this position
