📋 Description

• Lead the Renewable Energy Engineering team • Recruit, manage, mentor, and inspire a multidisciplinary team of renewable energy development engineers • Foster trust, psychological safety, career development, and effective cross-functional relationships • Allocate engineering resources, manage workloads, and balance priorities across the national project pipeline • Own technical strategy, risk mitigation, and execution for complex multimillion-dollar energy projects • Partner with Sales Executives on engineering solutions and business development goals • Participate in customer meetings and present technical visions to C-suite stakeholders • Oversee technical proposals, system layouts, energy production estimates, equipment specifications, risk assessments, and project schedules • Guide use of ITC, IRA adders, SGIP, USDA REAP, and net metering incentives • Oversee technical development from feasibility through construction handoff • Direct advanced energy modeling, battery dispatch optimization, utility cost/rate analysis, and microgrid resiliency designs • Manage utility interconnection strategies including NEM, SGIP, and Rule 21 • Resolve technical issues with utilities, AHJs, outside engineers, and vendors • Review and approve financial models, project pricing, construction budgets, and schedules • Support handoff to Project Management and provide technical guidance during procurement and construction • Oversee commissioning, project closeout, and post-construction savings evaluations • Improve engineering processes, design tools, and best practices for the remote engineering department

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related discipline • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in renewable energy project development, engineering design, or a related field • Demonstrated track record leading utility-scale or complex commercial/industrial solar PV and/or battery energy storage projects • Ability to review confidential US security information • Strong emotional intelligence and ability to lead with empathy, resolve conflicts, mentor remote staff, and build relationships with diverse customer profiles • Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to work with minimal oversight • Professional Engineering (PE) license, NABCEP PV Installation/Technical Sales certification, or Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification strongly preferred • Strong experience with complex microgrid design, islanding configurations, grid services, and dispatch optimization modeling • Familiarity with PVSyst, Helioscope, Aurora, Energy Toolbase, Xendee, and/or HOMER Pro • Advanced capability to analyze utility rate structures and validate NPV, IRR, and simple payback • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for an asynchronous remote workplace • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
