📋 Description

• Abstract relevant medical information and assign accurate ICD, CPT, and HCPCS codes to establish DRG or APC assignments, including complex cases • Query physicians to clarify ambiguous, incomplete, or unclear record documentation • Provide appropriate education to physicians and associates • Conduct internal coding and physician documentation audits • Adhere to AHIMA's Standards of Ethical Coding and official guidelines • Maintain required productivity and quality standards • Keep current with evolving coding, compliance, and reimbursement rules

🎯 Requirements

• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) credentialed from AHIMA, obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date; any specialty acceptable • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) credentialed from AAPC, obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date; any specialty acceptable • Coder specializing in Cardiac credentialed from AAPC, obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date • Registered Health Information Administrator credentialed from AHIMA, obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date • Registered Health Information Technician credentialed from AHIMA, obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date • High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required • Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable • 40 hours a week, between Monday-Friday, with no weekends or holidays
