📋 Description

• Plan, implement, maintain, and provide technical guidance for installation, upgrades, and maintenance of IBM Mainframe z/OS and third-party software and utilities • Install and maintain Broadcom Mainframe Software and associated customer home-grown systems • Deliver full-time services to a government agency as a client-facing technician in a staff augmentation role • Support remote/office environment operations • Provide off-hours support for new product maintenance applications and environmental changes • Ensure installed software products comply with the current mainframe operating system • Perform new release and version analysis in lower environments before production deployment • Document test plans and package software changes with back-out plans • Coordinate change control with government ITSM CAB organizations • Perform root cause analysis and manage vendor software issue cases • Respond to questions, issues, and concerns while managing shifting priorities • Drive execution and own overall success of product installations • Make independent decisions and respond to client management questions • Support, train, counsel, and mentor government employees, junior technicians, and engineers

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years’ experience as a z/OS Systems Programmer installing and maintaining software • Experience performing software installations using SMP/e • Industry knowledge using z/OSMF for product installations • Knowledge using Broadcom Mainframe Software such as CA Common Services, CA Gen, CA Endevor, CA Librarian, CA Datacom or equivalent • Ability to manage multiple Sysplexes with up to 60+ LPAR’s • Experience supporting Broadcom Software and third-party products for Disaster Recovery testing • Experience working for the government • DOD 8570 or 8140 computing environment certification such as CompTIA A+ is mandated • Active Security Clearance level of Secret is mandated • Ability to document test plans and package software changes with back-out plans • Ability to coordinate change control using Service Now or related systems • Understanding of ITIL change process and government ITSM CAB organizations • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Strong organizational skills; ability to work under pressure and with minimal supervision • Ability to perform root cause analysis, interpret traces, open vendor software issue cases, and manage shifting priorities • Ability to drive execution and take responsibility for product installations and off-hours support • Ability to make decisions independently and address client management questions related to z/OS, Broadcom mainframe technology, and third-party software • Strong analytical and creative critical thinking skills • Technical proficiency and customer-facing skills • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of related experience required • CompTIA A+ or Security+ within the last 3 years • Security Clearance of Secret within the last 5 years
