📋 Description

• Drive the technical strategy for data pipelines and sharing capabilities leveraged by all lines of business, including internal and external data availability • Drive innovation, best practices, engineering and delivery acceleration, platform scalability, operational excellence, performance, and resiliency • Serve as a visionary, influential, and hands-on technical leader and beacon for other individual contributors • Write Python, SQL, Java, and/or Scala code • Accelerate adoption of modern technologies by building awareness, increasing knowledge, and communicating consumer and engineering benefits • Provide expertise while fostering an inclusive environment where others’ ideas are heard and championed • Grow skills across the broader Capital One team • Promote engineering excellence and reuse/innersource solutions where possible • Communicate with and influence key stakeholders across the enterprise at all organizational levels • Act as a trusted advisor for a specific technology, platform, or capability domain • Shape use cases and implementation in a unified manner • Mentor internal talent and actively recruit external talent to strengthen Capital One’s technology team

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree • At least 9 years of experience in data engineering • At least 5 years of experience in data architecture • At least 3 years of experience building applications in AWS • Preferred: Masters’ Degree • Preferred: 10+ years of experience in data engineering • Preferred: 3+ years of data modeling experience • Preferred: 2+ years of experience with ontology standards for defining a domain • Preferred: 2+ years of experience using Python, SQL or Scala • Preferred: 1+ year of experience deploying machine learning models • Preferred: 3+ years of experience implementing big data processing solutions on AWS • Experience leveraging interactive AI tooling to accelerate productivity, utilizing capabilities beyond basic code completion • Capital One will consider sponsoring a new qualified applicant for employment authorization for this position
