📋 Description

• Design, implement and lead the extraction, transformation and load (ETL/ELT) process, ensuring data quality, integrity and reliability throughout the transition phase until full decommissioning of legacy systems. • Lead the process of mapping and understanding legacy system data (data model, business rules, volume, quality). • Define and implement the data cutover strategy between databases, considering: • - Required transformations • - Consolidation, cleansing and standardization rules • - Migration strategy (big bang, incremental, parallel, etc.) • Design, develop and maintain data pipelines (batch and/or near real-time) to ensure the new system is continuously fed until legacy systems are decommissioned. • Build ETL/ELT routines to extract, transform and load data across different database technologies and formats. • Ensure data governance: traceability, script/version control, technical documentation and reference data management. • Implement validation, reconciliation and data quality processes (checks, logs, monitoring, auditing). • Collaborate with new system developers, business analysts and infrastructure teams to align migration rules and timelines. • Support the definition of reusable data engineering standards and best practices for future migrations or integrations.

🎯 Requirements

• Proven experience as a Data Engineer (or equivalent role) with a focus on data migration/cutover between different systems. • Experience in data modeling (relational and/or dimensional). • Strong SQL skills (complex queries, optimization, creation of procedures, views, functions). • Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines using one or more of the following tools/technologies: • - Orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Luigi, Prefect, Azkaban) • - Integration/ETL tools (e.g., Talend, Pentaho, DataStage, SSIS) or code-based pipelines (Python/Scala/Java) • Experience with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server). • Familiarity with code versioning (Git) and development best practices (testing, code review, documentation). • Ability to analyze and interpret business rules and translate them into data transformation rules. • Nice to have: • Prior experience with decommissioning legacy systems and phased transition/migration plans. • Knowledge of cloud (AWS) and its data services. • Experience with pipeline monitoring and observability tools (logs, alerts, dashboards). • Experience with data governance and quality (Data Quality, Data Lineage, Data Catalog). • Experience with agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
