• Align business objectives with HR support and partner with Operations, Finance, IT, and Marketing • Support hourly and management team members across hiring, employee relations, training, safety, staffing, compliance, payroll, diversity and inclusion, and personnel research • Understand business strategy, identify opportunity areas, and recommend HR approaches, policies, and procedures • Interpret HR and business metrics to identify trends, solve problems, and influence change • Coach on change management, team effectiveness, and leadership development • Oversee day-to-day HR operations, including employee relations, unemployment, workers’ compensation, and policy adherence • Partner with restaurant management and the Executive Team on HR issues, policy adherence, and communications • Investigate employee relations concerns and recommend corrective action • Advise management on coaching, performance improvement plans, disciplinary action, and termination processes • Research local, state, and federal laws and recommend policy or procedure changes • Manage workers’ compensation and return-to-work processes • Facilitate accommodation requests and the interactive process • Recruit store-level and management employees • Complete payroll using Paylocity • Collect, analyze, and distribute HR data and reports • Conduct and document exit interviews and analyze trends • Complete payroll and HRIS data-entry duties • Conduct in-person and remote training on diversity, inclusion, harassment prevention, and other topics • Perform additional duties as assigned
• Minimum 5 years of experience resolving complex employee relations issues required • Minimum 2 years of strategic partnership experience required • Minimum 2 years of recruiting experience required • Bachelor’s degree required • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or a Master’s degree in a related field required • Working knowledge of compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, diversity, performance management, staffing, and federal and state employment laws • Proficiency with an HRIS system required • Experience supporting a multi-unit operation in a remote capacity required; multi-state experience preferred • Strong knowledge and previous experience with California employment law and employee relations required • Must be able to work California hours, 9 a.m.–6 p.m. PT • Must speak Spanish • Ability to travel to the Bay Area six times a year for 1–2 weeks at a time
