📋 Description

• Design and ship the agent execution runtime that compiles briefs into running agent teams • Build agent topology, handoffs, deterministic gates, shared message bus, session lifecycle, and recovery behavior • Design typed, versioned toolpacks backed by reviewed repository recipes • Implement sandboxed execution boundaries, lease handling, process-tree ownership, and MCP servers • Build evaluations, benchmarks, and metric sets to score agent runs • Instrument the system with per-phase timing, structured error taxonomies, and cost attribution • Use measurement to tune prompts, context, and agent topology • Bind briefs to capability classes and work with hosted and on-prem inference infrastructure • Tune context, caching, and model selection against cost, latency, and accuracy data • Partner with Ditto engineering teams to turn workflows into trusted briefs • Establish reusable patterns and mentor engineers as agentic development becomes standard

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience • Meaningful experience building and operating LLM-backed systems in production • Hands-on experience with tool and function calling, multi-agent orchestration, context and prompt engineering, and structured output • Practical understanding of agentic system failure modes • Experience building developer tooling such as CLIs, build systems, CI/CD, or internal platforms • Experience building evals or benchmarks • Strong Python, including async, typed interfaces, and Pydantic or similar • Systems fundamentals involving processes, sandboxing, and filesystems • Ability to debug code not originally written by the candidate • Demonstrated ownership and strong communication • Track record navigating ambiguity, setting technical direction, and working with internal customers in a distributed, remote-friendly team • MCP experience preferred • Sandboxing and host isolation experience preferred • Release engineering background preferred • Observability and cost accounting at scale, particularly OpenTelemetry, preferred • Inference infrastructure experience, including vLLM or similar, preferred • Fine-tuning or post-training experience with open-weight models preferred • Familiarity with Rust, Swift, or Kotlin preferred • Experience in fast-growing or startup environments preferred
