📋 Description

• Research, develop, review, update, and maintain technical manuals, operator/user guides, training materials, and associated documentation • Develop, revise, and maintain technical manuals, operator manuals, user guides, quick-reference guides, job aids, and training documentation • Develop, organize, and maintain practical exercises, examinations, student handouts, background material, instructional aids, and training aids • Review engineering documentation, system specifications, manufacturer manuals, software documentation, test reports, and other technical source material • Convert complex technical procedures into clear, sequential, task-oriented instructions • Develop and update task-based training materials, including performance steps, conditions, standards, troubleshooting procedures, system configuration procedures, and operator tasks • Incorporate engineering change proposals, software updates, hardware modifications, configuration changes, lessons learned, and field feedback into technical documentation • Assist in developing IMI products • Conduct quality-control reviews for technical accuracy, grammar, terminology, formatting, consistency, and usability • Participate in equipment demonstrations, technical interchange meetings, training events, and field exercises • Maintain working knowledge of assigned communications systems, software applications, network architectures, and associated support equipment • Coordinate with Training Developers and Team Leads to align technical documentation with training strategy and mission requirements • Support technical publication validation, verification, and Logistics Demonstration process development • Assist in developing documentation for Contract Deliverable Requirements Lists (CDRLs) • Determine learning strategies required to meet customer learning needs • Assist with training needs analysis, implementation planning, sustainment, and validation/verification activities • Interface with government personnel to identify required activities, conduct collaborative planning, review deliverables, and resolve issues

🎯 Requirements

• Active Secret clearance • BA degree or 12-15 years of prior relevant experience • Experience developing technical manuals, user guides, training documentation, or other technical publications • Experience interpreting and documenting complex technical systems, equipment, software, or communications processes • Ability to work effectively with technical SMEs and extract accurate information from highly technical discussions and source documentation • Strong technical writing, editing, proofreading, and documentation skills • Ability to develop task-oriented, step-by-step procedures • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify technical inconsistencies or missing information • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, particularly Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and/or Visio • Ability to manage multiple documentation projects, revisions, and competing deadlines • Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with government and contractor personnel • Must be able to travel at least 40% of the year • Experience supporting U.S. Army C5ISR, tactical communications, networking, or Command and Control systems • Experience with Army technical publications and documentation processes • Previous experience as a Training Developer, Technical Writer, Instructor, Maintainer, Communications Specialist, or SME • Experience developing or revising Army Technical Manuals (TMs) and associated training products • Familiarity with MIL-STD, Army publication standards, configuration management, and technical data management • Experience working with software-intensive systems and documenting procedures associated with software updates and configuration changes • Ability to regularly sit, walk, and/or stand throughout various times during the day • Ability to use hands repetitively to handle, feel, or operate standard office and maintenance power equipment
