📋 Description

• Lead one or more distributed engineering teams designing, building, and operating modern cloud-native and AI-powered software systems • Create an inclusive, psychologically safe environment where engineers can grow, collaborate, and deliver results • Coach engineers through feedback, career development, performance management, and mentoring • Build hiring pipelines, make hiring decisions, and raise the engineering talent bar • Own predictable delivery by establishing priorities, planning mechanisms, and execution discipline • Remove obstacles, manage competing priorities, and ensure high-quality software delivery aligned with business objectives • Measure team health with engineering and operational metrics to improve velocity, quality, and customer outcomes • Partner with Product Management, Design, Architecture, Security, and Business stakeholders to align roadmaps and priorities • Translate ambiguous business problems into executable engineering plans • Champion responsible AI adoption across the software development lifecycle • Ensure effective use of AI-assisted development tools while maintaining quality, security, and engineering judgment • Evaluate opportunities for AI-powered products and agentic systems with governance, observability, and operational safeguards • Establish operational practices supporting secure, observable, resilient, scalable, and maintainable software • Drive improvements through metrics, postmortems, incident reviews, SLOs, automation, and engineering health initiatives • Develop planning, estimation, sprint, release, metrics, on-call, documentation, technical debt, and workflow systems • Simplify processes, reduce friction, and improve engineering productivity • Guide technical decision-making, review architecture and design proposals, and encourage sound engineering tradeoffs • Partner with senior and staff engineers to evolve technical direction while empowering independent decisions

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years of experience building production software systems, including experience leading engineering teams • Demonstrated experience managing software engineers and building high-performing engineering teams • Strong experience delivering cloud-native, distributed software systems in production • Experience establishing engineering processes that improve delivery predictability, software quality, and operational excellence • Strong understanding of modern software architecture, cloud infrastructure, APIs, distributed systems, and software engineering best practices • Experience using business and engineering metrics and operational data to improve team effectiveness and customer outcomes • Experience coaching engineers through performance, career growth, feedback, and mentorship • Experience partnering effectively with Product Management, Design, Architecture, and cross-functional stakeholders • Strong understanding of iterative, metrics driven software development and continuous delivery; DORA • Experience adopting AI-assisted software development tools • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence, align stakeholders, and drive decisions across technical and business teams • Strong judgment balancing customer needs, technical health, organizational priorities, and long-term sustainability • Ideally, experience with AI platforms such as OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, or Databricks • Ideally, experience with AI-assisted development tools including Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar • Ideally, experience with C# (.NET), Python, Go, Java, TypeScript, or similar technologies • Ideally, experience with Kubernetes and containerized application platforms • Ideally, experience with Terraform, CDK, or similar Infrastructure as Code technologies • Ideally, experience with OpenTelemetry, Grafana, Datadog, Prometheus, or similar observability platforms • Ideally, experience in highly regulated industries such as Financial Services, Insurance, or Healthcare • Ideally, experience leading geographically distributed engineering teams
