📋 Description

• Provide direct HR support and advice to the Freeda Committee • Attend approximately six Committee meetings per year and actively engage in Freeda activities • Support effective oversight of all HR matters • Advise on HR governance matters and specific internal HR situations • Support development of up-to-date HR policies • Ensure adherence to Jersey employment law and related legal instruments • Develop and maintain an effective relationship with the Committee and CEO • Assist and guide the CEO on HR matters when required • Support governance oversight and compliance with Jersey Charities Commission, Jersey Care Commission and Freeda’s Constitution requirements • Contribute to review of the annual strategic plan, organisational goals and annual Freeda report from an HR perspective • Help ensure Freeda’s activities align with its mission and values • Participate in public events and support fundraising

🎯 Requirements

• Held a senior HR management role in an organisation for a minimum of 5 years • Experience in applying Jersey employment law • Previous HR leadership roles desirable • Some governance, management and strategic oversight experience • Previous trustee or committee experience • In depth knowledge of Jersey employment law and related instances • Sound understanding and commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion • An understanding of the cause and effect of violence and abuse against women and girls • Sound knowledge of governance and financial management • Knowledge of the Jersey Care Commission and/or Social Services policies an advantage • Commitment to upholding Freeda’s mission and values • Leadership, management, coordination and strategic thinking skills • Ability to analyse, problem solve and lead others • Good independent judgement • Networking skills an advantage
