📋 Description

• Design, build, test, and maintain scalable data engineering components and platform services • Develop and implement secure cloud-based data platforms, including data lakes, lakehouses, and data warehouses • Engineer multi-tenant cloud environments supporting hybrid/on-premises systems and SQL, NoSQL, IaaS, PaaS, distributed SQL, multimodal, and streaming databases • Design auditable data integration patterns across Judiciary systems and external platforms, including legacy CM/ECF • Implement data quality controls, validation rules, governance-aligned structures, and performance optimization • Coordinate engineering implementation with the Data Architecture Blueprint and evolving data models • Document platform architecture, integrations, quality metrics, and service statistics • Partner with DevSecOps/CI-CD engineering on pipeline testing and deployment • Escalate and help resolve technical risks, defects, and dependencies • Support the Data and Technology Enabler Roadmap for engineering, analytics, reporting, and AI/ML use cases • Design and develop ingestion, ETL/ELT, transformation, near-real-time, and batch pipelines • Lead data management solutions including databases, document storage, schemas, models, and data access APIs • Provide technical direction and day-to-day oversight to Data Engineers • Implement Infrastructure as Code for database provisioning, configuration, and management • Build reusable data services for analytics, reporting, data marts, and gold layers • Implement logical and physical data models in platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, or AWS Redshift • Develop secure, testable code and integrate pipelines with cloud services, messaging, and storage • Configure metadata, workflows, automation, security settings, catalog ingestion processes, and attribute definitions • Create training, job aids, and communications for user adoption • Optimize pipeline performance, scalability, and cost efficiency • Support CI/CD deployments, automated testing, incident resolution, and root cause analysis • Produce technical documentation, runbooks, and workflows • Ensure deliverables meet federal security, governance, and audit requirements • Operate in an Agile federal delivery environment across multiple scrum teams • Collaborate with architects, DBAs, business analysts, and QA personnel • Execute data migration, archival, and disaster recovery strategies • Deliver migration documentation and support failover testing and DR drills

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years of related experience • MA/MS degree with 7+ years or BS/BA degree with 9+ years of general experience in information systems and 7+ years of specialized experience • Experience may be considered in lieu of degree: HS with 16+ years, AA/AS with 14+ years, BA/BS with 12+ years, or Doctorate/Ph.D. with 9+ years • Experience in data engineering and data architecture design • Understanding of system security best practices • Experience researching advanced technologies for business needs • Experience with AWS data and compute services • Experience with data orchestration tools • Proven software and data engineering experience • Hands-on experience building enterprise-scale data pipelines • Strong proficiency with SQL, Python, and data transformation techniques • Experience developing in cloud-based data platforms • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum delivery environments • Hands-on experience with data platforms, data analytics, and AI/ML solutions • Proficiency with ETL/ELT frameworks • Experience with streaming or near-real-time data ingestion • Familiarity with data governance, metadata, and classification standards • Experience leading and mentoring data engineers • Excellent oral and written presentation and communication skills • Ability to work with high-level customer stakeholders and build customer relationships • Experience applying industry tools, solutions, methods, best practices, and emerging technologies • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team • Must obtain and maintain a Public Trust • Must provide onsite fingerprinting at a designated facility • Preferred certifications: CDMP, Snowflake SnowPro Core, Databricks Certified Data Professional, AWS Certified Data Analytics - Specialty, AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional, AWS Certified Data Engineer
