📋 Description

• Develop legislative strategy and lead credit union advocacy efforts in Oregon • Advocate for credit union interests before the Oregon State Legislature and executive-level elected officials • Supervise and manage Oregon lobbying strategy development and implementation • Develop and proactively advance legislation beneficial to Oregon credit unions • Build relationships with statewide executive-level elected officials and Oregon state legislators • Identify emerging legislative and industry developments shaping state policy statements and issue agendas • Lead the Oregon Government Affairs Committee, State Issues Work Groups, and applicable task forces • Modernize and implement grassroots and grasstops key contacts programs • Serve as treasurer of OR-CUPAC and ensure timely sunshine and election reporting • Set budgets and coordinate grassroots support for elected officials or candidates • Represent Oregon credit union members within the Association and with external groups • Engage directly with credit unions and represent the Association at relevant meetings and events • Connect regularly with Oregon credit union members regarding state-specific issues

🎯 Requirements

• Superb communication skills • Ability to grasp complex subjects • Background in legislative affairs, lobbying, or politics • Experience with financial institutions is a plus • Four-year degree in political science or another related field, or equivalent work experience • Five to seven years’ experience in lobbying, public policy, legislative affairs, or grassroots coordination • Proven competency in strategic thinking, plan development, and execution • Minimum three years’ experience effectively working with the state legislature • Must be located in the Portland/Salem, Oregon area
