📋 Description

• Own end-to-end technical direction for Session Replay across frontend, backend, and data systems • Drive backend architecture evolution, including columnar/analytical storage systems • Define data models, ingestion pipelines, and query patterns • Lead investigation workflows connecting replay with logs, metrics, traces, and other Grafana Cloud telemetry • Make architectural decisions affecting multiple teams and products • Partner with Frontend Observability, Synthetic Monitoring, and Core Grafana teams • Engage directly with customers through calls, structured feedback, and Session Replay adoption support • Improve engineering standards, patterns, and operational practices • Mentor engineers and grow technical leadership within the team

🎯 Requirements

• Applicants from Canadian EST time zones only • Comfortable working in a remote-first company • Ability to communicate design decisions clearly in written and spoken English • Ability to reason about data-intensive systems, including ingestion, storage, querying, and cost trade-offs • Comfortable owning features in ambiguous problem spaces • Understanding of a user-centered software development process • Value code maintainability, readability, and automation • Use AI tools naturally in an engineering workflow • Experience with columnar/analytical databases is a bonus • Experience with observability tools is a bonus • Experience building debugging or developer-focused tools is a bonus • Familiarity with privacy, security, and access control in data-heavy systems is a bonus • Experience with performance-sensitive systems is a bonus
