📋 Description

• Own the quality operating model and lead its expansion across all product lines • Operate and harden AI-agent-driven test coverage pipelines for API, UI, integration, contract, performance, and end-to-end testing • Run review-and-activation workflows and maintain review SLA throughput • Own evidence-based release gates, exit criteria, waivers, sign-off accountability, and escalation paths • Define human-testing criteria and run the process to retire manual tests as automation improves • Build agent-verdict evaluation and calibration using golden human verdicts and escape-rate data • Embed automated testing into the software development lifecycle and CI/CD pipelines • Advance behavioral validation through persona walkthroughs, exploratory charters, and judgment-based testing • Partner with Engineering Managers and Staff Engineers to improve reliability, maintainability, and developer productivity • Mentor engineers and QA teammates through code reviews, pairing, and technical design discussions • Define and use engineering quality metrics including escape rate, calibration, catalog trends, waiver frequency, and deployment success • Evaluate emerging testing technologies, agentic engineering practices, and AI-assisted development tools • Influence engineering strategy and establish a culture where quality is engineered, not inspected

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in Software Engineering, Quality Engineering, or SDET roles • Experience leading quality engineering initiatives across multiple engineering teams • Experience designing agentic or AI-assisted quality workflows, including agent-generated test coverage, computer-use testing, or LLM evaluation and calibration • Proven experience designing modern automated testing systems for enterprise SaaS applications • Strong software engineering skills and ability to review and harden agent-produced Java and TypeScript code and tests • Experience with evidence-based release governance, including release gates, exit criteria, waivers, and sign-off accountability • Deep understanding of distributed systems, cloud-native applications, CI/CD, and highly testable software architectures • Demonstrated technical leadership, mentoring, and organizational influence • Excellent communication skills • Passion for developer experience, engineering enablement, and continuous improvement • U.S. person status: U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, asylee, or refugee • Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship • Preferred: experience building or transforming Quality Engineering organizations in high-growth SaaS companies • Preferred: Principal Engineer, Staff Engineer, Quality Engineering Architect, or senior SDET experience • Preferred: production experience with intelligent test generation, autonomous test maintenance, or agent-driven quality workflows • Preferred: Playwright, Selenium, REST Assured, JUnit/TestNG, Cypress, or comparable automation technologies • Preferred: developer-owned quality, shift-left testing, testing pyramids, and engineering quality metrics • Preferred: spec-driven or artifact-first development practices • Preferred: test management systems such as Xray/Jira or comparable tools • Preferred: Kubernetes, serverless architectures, microservices testing, and observability platforms
