📋 Description

• Constantly improve team productivity and refine agile processes • Create methods to increase efficiency • Oversee day-to-day operations of an engineering team with 6–8 direct reports • Recruit outstanding engineers • Train new software engineers on best practices, standards, culture, and policies • Conduct performance reviews, mentor direct reports, and plan career growth • Participate in system architecture discussions and technical design reviews • Ensure system scalability, reliability, and security • Conduct code reviews and enforce clean coding practices • Participate in bi-weekly engineering lunch & learns • Collaborate with Product Managers to meet and exceed customer needs • Build and maintain a world-class technology system supporting Happy Returns’ returns software and reverse logistics mission

🎯 Requirements

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills • Senior engineer experience for at least two years • Technical lead/team lead experience for at least one year • Over six years of experience developing and testing web applications • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders to ensure engineers exceed business needs • Ability to coach engineers in shipping high-quality, maintainable, and well-tested code in a high-velocity environment • Strong interest in a highly collaborative environment with Developers, Product Managers, DevOps Engineers, and QA Engineers • Expertise in multiple server-side languages such as Go or Python (bonus) • Proficiency in modern JavaScript frameworks such as React (bonus) • Familiarity with PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB (bonus) • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS (bonus) • Strong interest in e-commerce, logistics, and/or sustainability (bonus) • Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. • Visa sponsorship is not offered
