📋 Description

• Lead Engine’s AI Platform as a founding VP • Set technical strategy, build hands-on during the early phase, and scale the organization through a Director and principal engineers • Serve on The Triad with Applied AI and Workforce Transformation leaders to prioritize the enterprise AI roadmap and resolve cross-domain decisions • Own the LLM gateway, agent framework, prompt and agent libraries, and evaluation infrastructure • Lead developer experience and the Velocity program, including the AI harness, coding agents, testing, autonomy frameworks, and coverage gates • Rebuild product operations as AI-native software with instrumented cadences, automated reporting, gap analysis, and the PD maturity scorecard • Own shared automation engineering, APIs, orchestration, and integrations • Own AI data infrastructure including retrieval and RAG, context pipelines, evaluation datasets, agent memory, and usage telemetry • Establish observability, security, and cost controls for platform AI in partnership with Security and IT • Maintain one shared enterprise-wide AI platform without parallel stacks • Grow the platform organization across agent platform, infrastructure, evaluation, observability, security, and developer experience • Deliver live, adopted platform rails, measured Velocity baselines, autonomy pathways, a flagship platform capability, security and cost controls, and a functioning Triad rhythm within the first six months

🎯 Requirements

• 15+ years in software or platform engineering • 5+ years leading engineering teams or organizations • 8+ years building platforms or infrastructure other teams depend on • 3+ years hands-on with production AI/ML, including LLMs, agents, and evaluation • Experience building and running shared platforms used by many teams • Experience making build-versus-buy and architecture decisions shaping an engineering organization • Hands-on expertise with LLMs, agents, orchestration, evaluation, latency, cost, reliability, and safety • Ability to personally architect and ship core platform services • Experience partnering with executive peers on technical strategy and driving cross-functional alignment • Proven ability to hire, level, and grow senior engineering talent • Ability to build security, privacy, and safe-use controls into AI infrastructure by default
