📋 Description

• Build, operate, and scale automated, testable, and auditable network infrastructure using software engineering practices • Design, develop, and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code to provision and manage network devices, services, and configurations • Build and own GitLab CI/CD pipelines for network automation, validation, and deployment • Develop automation and orchestration tooling using Python, Ansible, and Terraform • Implement automated unit, integration, and device/system-level testing for network changes using PyATS or equivalent • Create and maintain reusable automation libraries, templates, and modules for multi-vendor environments • Integrate network automation with inventory/CMDB systems such as ServiceNow, monitoring, and ITSM • Troubleshoot production network and automation issues; perform root cause analysis and corrective automation • Author and maintain runbooks, design documents, and change control artifacts supporting safe, auditable deployments • Participate in network modernization, SD-WAN rollouts, PCI and security controls, and site onboarding projects • Coach and mentor engineers on automation best practices, testing, and Git-based workflows • Collaborate with the broader infrastructure team and cross-functional engineering and operational teams

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of network engineering experience • At least 2 years focused on network automation/DevOps practices • Strong hands-on experience with Python scripting for automation and tooling • Practical experience with Ansible for device/config automation • Practical experience with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning • Proven ability to author and run GitLab CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployments • Solid networking foundation: L2/L3 concepts, VLANs, STP, BGP, OSPF, WAN technologies, switching, routing, wireless, and firewall platforms • Experience with multi-vendor device automation, including Cisco, Meraki, and SilverPeak • Familiarity with Linux systems, REST APIs, JSON/YAML, and network device CLIs • Experience designing and implementing automated testing for network changes • Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail • Experience working in production support or on-call rotations • Excellent communication and collaboration skills • Preferred: Cisco CCNP/CCIE, Cisco DevNet, HashiCorp Terraform Associate, or equivalent certifications • Preferred: experience with Docker and Kubernetes as they relate to networking services • Preferred: background in hospitality, retail, or highly distributed enterprise environments • Preferred: experience implementing security controls for network automation and change governance
