📋 Description

• Manage, mentor, and grow a multi-disciplinary team of data engineers and data scientists • Oversee scalable data pipelines, data architecture, and data science models • Partner with Analytics to design data models and infrastructure for scalable Looker insights • Consult on upstream data changes and assess impacts on downstream data models and analytics • Define and evolve Snowflake data warehousing architecture strategy • Lead data quality standards, data governance, and security/compliance practices • Liaise between the data team and other departments to gather requirements and prioritize requests • Develop a strategic data engineering and data science roadmap aligned with business goals • Identify and evaluate new data sources and data science opportunities and oversee integration • Contribute hands-on to data engineering and data science codebases and solve complex technical challenges

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, data science, or data architecture roles • At least 2+ years in a leadership or management capacity • Experience with modern data integration tools, ETL/ELT frameworks, and cloud data platforms • 3+ years of experience with data visualization and BI tools such as Looker • Experience managing and collaborating with Data Science teams • Understanding of machine learning models and statistical analysis • Familiarity with modern AI workflows and coding assistants • Deep understanding of data pipeline architectures, dimensional data modeling, and ELT best practices • Proficiency with SQL and Python • Experience with data quality management, automated testing frameworks, and continuous observability tools • Familiarity with data governance principles, zero-trust security models, and compliance standards • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and drive alignment • Healthcare or insurance industry experience strongly preferred • Experience with AWS, Snowflake, and Matillion or dbt are a plus • Experience with healthcare data and HIPAA/PHI strongly preferred
