📋 Description

• Create, manage, and optimize data and BI platforms • Partner with stakeholders to gather requirements and define data solution architecture • Build and deliver ETL pipelines, data models, and monitoring controls • Own end-to-end delivery of data architecture and pipeline solutions, including planning, requirements gathering, design, building, and testing • Design and evolve a governed semantic layer as the single source of truth for business intelligence • Design and operationalize a data quality framework with monitoring, alerting, root cause analysis, troubleshooting, resolution, and impact assessments • Manage and continuously improve data architecture and pipelines, monitoring standards, and operational controls • Lead planning for Tableau platform management, updates, enhancements, maintenance, and stakeholder communications • Ensure BI platform availability, performance, security, operations, and governance standards • Establish foundational AI-enabled analytics capabilities in the BI platform • Collaborate with Analytics, Application Development, Data Collection Strategy & Operations, IT Operations, Product Management, and Regional Data Systems & Strategy teams • Create, drive, track, and execute project plans for owned workstreams while managing competing priorities • Lead sprint planning, sprint execution, and release delivery • Track and communicate progress, risks, dependencies, and blockers • Guide team members developing data and BI solutions, including validation, quality checks, and documentation • Manage and develop one or more FTE or contractor team members through expectations, feedback, and coaching • Report to the Senior Director of Data Management and Governance

• Passion and commitment to KIPP’s mission and ability to uphold KIPP’s Core Values • Demonstrated record of co-creating ambitious goals with managers and driving desired outcomes • Ability to monitor progress across multiple workstreams • Understanding of organizational operating models, structures, and core operational processes • Ability to drive work through direct reports and peers and follow through on commitments • Clear action planning and effective time management around competing priorities • Skilled in creating and executing project plans with stakeholders and effective delegation • Knowledge management skills • Ability to build and align goals and project plans with organizational priorities • Ability to build and maintain knowledge management systems • Ability to develop and codify efficient processes • Independent problem-solving and proactive risk mitigation • People management, coaching, performance management, and development skills • Knowledge of SQL, Spark, PySpark, on-premises and cloud-based data platform management and architecture, CI/CD, ETL/data pipelines, version control, SSIS, agile sprint operations, project management tools, and machine learning principles • 8+ years of professional experience in data engineering, infrastructure engineering, or a closely related technical field • Experience with SQL-based data platforms such as SQL Server • Experience with Fabric/OneLake, Snowflake, or Databricks, including building and managing ETLs/pipelines • Experience managing and mentoring data engineers • Strong technical proficiency in SSIS, Spark, PySpark, and SQL • Experience managing Tableau infrastructure and operations in on-premises and cloud environments • Experience with Git-based version control and CI/CD workflows using Bitbucket, GitHub, GitLab, or Azure DevOps • Bachelor’s degree in data engineering, computer science, information systems, or a related field preferred • Master’s degree preferred
