📋 Description

• Create, manage, and optimize data and BI platforms • Partner with stakeholders to gather requirements and define data solution architecture • Build and deliver data pipeline solutions, including ETL pipelines, data models, and monitoring controls • Create, drive, and track project plans for BI platform and Data Engineering solutions • Lead sprint planning and completion for assigned pipelines and workstreams • Own end-to-end delivery of data architecture and pipeline solutions, including planning, requirements gathering, design, building, and testing strategy • Design and evolve the semantic layer as a governed single source of truth for business intelligence • Design and operationalize a data quality framework with monitoring, alerting, root cause analysis, troubleshooting, resolution, and impact/sizing assessments • Manage and continuously improve data architecture and pipelines, monitoring standards, and operational controls • Lead planning for Tableau platform management, updates, enhancements, maintenance, and stakeholder communication • Ensure high availability, performance, security, operations, and governance standards for data/BI platforms • Establish and evolve foundational AI-enabled analytics capabilities in the BI platform • Partner with Analytics, Application Development, Data Collection Strategy & Operations, IT Operations, Product Management, and Regional Data Systems & Strategy teams • Execute project plans, manage competing priorities, and ensure data availability and accuracy • Lead sprint execution and release delivery, resolving dependencies and blockers • Track and communicate progress, risks, and dependencies • Guide team members in developing data and BI solutions, validation, quality checks, and documentation • Manage and develop one or more FTE or contractor team members through expectations, feedback, and coaching

• Passion and commitment to KIPP’s mission and ability to uphold KIPP’s Core Values • Demonstrated ability to co-create ambitious goals, monitor progress across multiple workstreams, and drive outcomes • Ability to create and execute project plans while managing competing priorities • Knowledge management skills • Ability to build and maintain knowledge management systems and codify processes • Problem-solving skills, initiative, risk anticipation, and proactive solution development • Experience developing and coaching teammates • Skills in SQL, Spark, PySpark, on-premises and cloud-based data platform management and architecture, CI/CD, ETL/data pipelines, version control, SSIS, agile sprint operations, project management tools, and machine learning principles • 8+ years of professional experience in data engineering, infrastructure engineering, or a closely related technical field • Experience with SQL-based data platforms such as SQL Server • Experience with modern cloud-based data warehouse/lakehouse platforms such as Fabric/OneLake, Snowflake, or Databricks, including building and managing ETL/pipelines • Experience managing and mentoring data engineers • Strong technical proficiency in SSIS, Spark, PySpark, and SQL • Demonstrated experience managing Tableau infrastructure and operations, on-premises and cloud • Experience with version control and CI/CD workflows using Git and platforms such as Bitbucket, GitHub, GitLab, or Azure DevOps • Experience with SQL Server and MS Fabric/OneLake preferred • Bachelor’s degree in data engineering, computer science, information systems, or a related field preferred • Master’s degree preferred • Low travel requirement: 10% (20 days per year) • Full, exempt role
