📋 Description

• Design and build systems defining plans, pricing, entitlements, and limits, exposed through the API • Decompose billing from the monolith into correct, testable, independently deployable services • Own end-to-end correctness for usage metering, reconciliation, invoices, and customer-visible usage data • Operate built systems through SLOs, alerting, on-call, and root-cause fixes • Drive modernization of LaunchDarkly’s billing platform • Work with billing, CRM, and finance system integrations

🎯 Requirements

• 6+ years of professional software-engineering experience with significant work on complex backend applications • Experience decomposing a monolith • Track record with systems where correctness is non-negotiable • Knowledge of idempotency, reconciliation, reversible migrations, and safe cutovers • Proficiency in at least one backend language, such as Go, Rust, or Python • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, such as AWS or equivalent • Strong production ownership, including on-call • Billing, payments, metering systems, usage-based pricing, entitlement modeling, quotas, or multi-tenant limits are bonus qualifications
