📋 Description

• Support clients in Louisville, KY, and the surrounding region • Perform control systems development assignments and create specifications with limited or no user requirements • Independently evaluate, select, and apply standard programming techniques, procedures, and criteria • Direct one or more projects and supervise project team members as needed • Interface with external clients and internal engineering disciplines • Gather field data and prepare functional specifications • Write DCS and/or PLC code • Develop HMI graphics • Perform client acceptance testing, software Factory Acceptance Testing, commissioning, and automation system start-up • Prepare project scopes of work, preliminary design concepts, and cost estimates • Report project performance • Lead software development for existing and new DCS/PLC-based control systems • Design operator graphic screens and interfaces with other control systems and external computing platforms • Develop high-quality industrial software programs according to project requirements • Coordinate and collaborate with other engineering disciplines • Help supervise site-team safety and develop control-system safety guidelines • Mentor engineers and provide leadership and guidance to less experienced staff • Participate in continuous improvement of Matrix standards, procedures, and project methodology • Serve as client sponsor and help identify new project opportunities • Lead proposal efforts and become a trusted client resource • Follow Matrix Core Values and set an example for others

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited college or university • Minimum six years of controls, automation, and electrical troubleshooting and start-up experience • Must be legally eligible to work in the United States • Able to access required client work sites • Ability to travel approximately 15-25%, both locally and overnight • Experience with protocols including Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet, and Modbus TCP/IP • Knowledge in Process Control Network Architecture design • Preference for Allen-Bradley, Rockwell Automation, Siemens, and Aveva experience • Knowledge of continuous batching processes and controls is a plus • Systems Integrator experience is a plus • EPC project experience preferred • Experience with distillery operations, process manufacturing, or industrial automation within the spirits sector is a strong asset • Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) or Professional Engineer (PE) certification preferred • Varied industrial background is a plus • Familiarity with food and beverage, chemical, pharmaceuticals, or manufacturing industries • Ability to perform industrial field work and work around hazardous locations, inclement weather, moving mechanical parts, noise, ladders, uneven ground, stairs, and food allergens • Ability to occasionally lift or move objects up to 25 pounds
