📋 Description

• Lead, mentor, and manage a regional team of Network Solutions Architects. • Establish and execute training regimens covering network design, mobile backhaul, and security. • Oversee the design and integration of ASTRO P25 LMR networks with customer enterprise applications. • Ensure deployment of complex LAN/WAN designs using Motorola Solutions and third-party vendor equipment. • Direct escalation and tier-3 troubleshooting support for complex network and mobile backhaul issues. • Provide regional design guidance for P25-LMR, LTE, Smart Public Safety, and enterprise application transport networks. • Oversee layer-1 and layer-2 transport media design specifications, including fiber and microwave. • Collaborate on bid strategies, project deployments, and regional NSA resource allocation. • Review and present complex technical system designs to customers and engineering leadership. • Enforce documentation standards for high-level and detailed network designs. • Oversee network infrastructure security audits and testing best practices. • Evaluate third-party vendor equipment and recommend future mobile backhaul technology investments. • Champion software tools and automation for network design and deployment tasks. • Support customer, team, and project needs through regional travel.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience managing technical engineering teams within a mission-critical or public safety environment • Legal authorization to work indefinitely in the U.S. • Employer work permit sponsorship is unavailable • Experience managing, leading, or mentoring technical engineering teams within a mission-critical environment • Ability to travel 25–50% within the Mid-West and Western Regions of the U.S.; occasional travel outside the region may be required • Ability to guide installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and virtualized servers • JNCIA, NRS I, or equivalent industry-recognized certification preferred • Deep understanding of BGP, OSPF, ISIS, MPLS, and G8032 ring protection • Familiarity with Juniper, Nokia, HP, and Fortinet equipment • Familiarity with Metro Ethernet, Frame-Relay, Ethernet, SONET, fiber, copper, and microwave • Motorola ASTRO 25 architecture experience preferred • Scripting/programming for network automation preferred • Proficiency with Microsoft Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google applications • Experience with Network Management Applications such as SolarWinds, JUNO-Space, Nokia NFMP, and Provision is a plus • Exceptional written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills • Proven collaborative relationship-building with colleagues, customers, and third-party service professionals
