📋 Description

• Direct a geographically distributed team of engineers improving the Firefox Desktop experience and browser user interface. • Drive initiatives delivering high-quality, highly available, monitored, and maintainable software to users. • Navigate trade-offs and align teams across a portfolio of browser user experiences. • Communicate team goals, project scope and risks, and own initiative delivery on clear timelines. • Identify, build, and iterate engineering processes supporting a high-performing team. • Conduct regular one-on-ones focused on technical work and professional development; provide direct performance feedback. • Support and empower developers throughout the developer lifecycle. • Create an inclusive environment that engages and challenges team members. • Collaborate with Product, UX, QA, Operations, and Data Science teams.

🎯 Requirements

• 4+ years leading engineers in a software development environment and working across multiple distributed teams. • Software engineering background that empowers you to drive technical decisions within the team and engage with engineers at all levels of seniority to triage, prioritize and implement. • Experience leading multiple concurrent projects. • Previous experience working on frontend platform initiatives e.g. design systems and frontend architectural improvements. • Track record of delivering front-end experiences to user-facing products • Hands-on experience with web technologies (JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS). • Proven track record successfully leading and shipping sophisticated user facing experiences on time, using data to inform timelines. • Strong communication and ability to develop positive relationships with others, regardless of their rank or role. • Passion to resolve problems, manage risk, lead change, and facilitate collaborative decision-making. • Experience effectively communicating with senior leadership and advocating for engineering priorities. • Desire to grow and learn as a manager, grow and develop others, and get results through others rather than personal technical proficiency. • Able to hire, mentor, empower, develop, and delegate to geographically distributed team members with different skills from your own. • Commitment to Mozilla values: Welcoming differences; Being relationship-minded; Practicing responsible participation; Having grit.
