Neuron is a building services engineering consultancy that uses proprietary technology to accelerate and improve MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing and related) design and coordination for developers and architects across Australia and the UK. They provide early feasibility input, utility connection assessments, MEP engineering reports and design drawings, and aim to de-risk projects, maximise development value, and streamline coordination by delivering fast, data-driven advice (often within days). Their clients are primarily property developers and design teams working on residential, mixed-use, hotel and commercial projects.

📋 Description

• Define and execute the engineering strategy and technology roadmap aligned with business goals • Build, lead, and scale high-performing global engineering teams • Drive architecture and delivery of AI/GenAI platforms, including LLMs, RAG, NLP, and agentic systems • Ensure scalability, reliability, and performance of enterprise SaaS products • Partner with Product, Sales, and Customer teams to deliver customer-centric solutions • Establish best practices in software development, DevOps, and quality engineering • Lead hiring, mentoring, and leadership development across engineering teams • Drive innovation in AI, data platforms, and cloud infrastructure • Manage budgets, planning, and execution for engineering initiatives

🎯 Requirements

• 15+ years of experience in software engineering, with 5+ years in senior leadership roles • Proven experience leading engineering teams in high-growth SaaS or AI companies • Strong expertise in distributed systems, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), and microservices • Experience building and scaling AI/GenAI systems, including LLMs, RAG, NLP, and search platforms • Track record of delivering enterprise-grade products at scale • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills • Preferred: Experience in Field Service, Customer Service, or enterprise operations domain • Preferred: Familiarity with Salesforce, ServiceNow, or enterprise system integrations • Preferred: Experience with vector databases, embeddings, and AI evaluation frameworks • Preferred: Background in data engineering, analytics, or search systems
