📋 Description

• Lead development of large-scale software applications • Ensure high quality and adherence to quality-first standards • Influence critical architectural decisions • Ensure systems are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with business objectives • Balance technical debt, performance concerns, scalability, and business needs • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on technical decisions and improvements • Mentor junior engineers and establish technical standards • Own technical initiatives and proactively address challenges • Drive improvements based on data reported by support teams • Advocate for and implement quality assurance practices • Deliver robust, high-performance software • Contribute to additional responsibilities as needed • Build and scale services behind NinjaOne's third-party patching engine, including software-version detection, validation, and deployment to customer endpoints

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience • 10+ years of experience in Java software development, particularly for product applications • 5+ years of experience with highly scalable systems • Proven experience scaling systems and solving complex system design challenges • Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming (OOP) design principles and practices • Expertise in API design and RESTful services • Experience with frameworks like Spring • Proficiency in relational database design and development • Experience with caching systems • Data warehouse exposure and testing/automation tooling a plus • Located in the USA and residing in CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, IL, KS, ME, MA, MD, NJ, NC, NY, OR, TN, TX, VA, OH, or WA • This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship • Onsite interviews may be required • Chicago city residents are ineligible unless residing outside the city proper or willing to self-relocate
