📋 Description

• Lead multiple engineering teams responsible for customer-facing web applications, APIs, and services across a broad DNS product portfolio • Develop engineers and technical leads through clear expectations, regular feedback, coaching, career development, and delegation of ownership • Drive predictable delivery by translating product priorities into executable plans, managing dependencies, identifying risks, and holding teams accountable for outcomes • Guide technical direction and engineering practices while empowering senior engineers to own architecture, design, implementation, testing, and operational readiness • Partner with Product Management, Architecture, SQA, and peer engineering teams to resolve ambiguity, align priorities, and deliver cohesive customer experiences • Improve engineering effectiveness through pragmatic processes, operational practices, technical debt management, automation, and continuous improvement • Build customer-facing applications and APIs for Akamai's DNS and IP Acceleration products

🎯 Requirements

• 10 years of relevant experience • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or another related field • Experience leading software engineering teams across multiple products or workstreams • Technical depth in backend services, REST APIs, distributed systems, and web application architectures • Experience developing senior engineers and technical leads • Experience delivering complex software through collaboration with Product Management, Quality Engineering, Architecture, and other engineering teams • Effective communication across technical and business audiences • Ability to navigate ambiguity, competing priorities, technical disagreements, and organizational complexity
