• Integrate industry engineering and operational principles into NuScale design development to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable plant operation • Develop training for NuScale plant staff using training principles, techniques, practices, and applicable industry standards, codes, and regulations • Work under consultative direction toward long-range goals and objectives • Determine objectives and approaches to critical assignments • Collaborate with team members to vet solutions and ensure high-quality deliverables • Interact with management and other organizations on matters requiring cross-organizational coordination • Prepare and present technical information concerning NuScale projects to the NRC, potential customers, and other stakeholders • Perform or coordinate special studies, analyses, and design decisions addressing unique operational and design issues • Develop cost estimates for studies, analyses, and design decision alternatives where appropriate • Apply expert knowledge of nuclear power plant operational principles to support Standard Design Approval development • Resolve complex problems using professional operational principles and company objectives • Perform design reviews to ensure safe and efficient plant operation and maintenance • Develop operating and maintenance procedures for normal, abnormal, and emergency operations • Develop training materials to ensure safe and efficient plant operation • Interface with potential customers, investors, and the NRC to support marketing and licensing of the NuScale design • Perform other duties as assigned
• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a technical field, Human Factors Engineering, or Industrial Psychology from a four-year accredited college or university • Previously held an SRO or RO license or an SRO certification • Minimum of 8 years of full-time working experience in the commercial nuclear power industry • Eligibility to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810 • Direct experience working in the Training Department highly desired • Plant operations, procedure development, and human factors engineering experience preferred • Ability to understand and communicate clearly using a phone, personal interaction, and computers • Ability to learn new job functions and comprehend and apply new concepts quickly • Ability to travel nationally and locally using common forms of transportation
