📋 Description

• Report to the Vice President of Software Engineering • Help build, operate, and scale the software engineering organization and technology platform • Initially spend approximately 80% of time writing code, designing systems, and standing up core infrastructure • Partner with the VP of Software Engineering on architecture and technology strategy • Perform hands-on design, code review, and technical decision-making • Evolve architecture and manage technical debt • Set standards balancing scalability, security, maintainability, delivery speed, and cost • Use AI-assisted development tools and agentic workflows to increase engineering velocity • Embed AI into provider workflows including documentation, decision support, and care coordination • Own reliability, security, and operation of the AWS platform, including infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, and QA automation • Establish monitoring, observability, SLOs/RTOs/RPOs, and incident response practices • Build runbooks and prevent critical platform knowledge from being siloed • Work with clinical, operations, and growth teams to turn ambiguous processes into scalable, ROI-prioritized products • Recruit and develop a small, high-performing engineering team • Lead the provider enablement platform and patient- and provider-facing applications • Manage integrations across multiple EMRs and external data sources • Deliver secure, compliant architecture aligned to HIPAA, SOC 2, and HITRUST • Translate roadmaps, plan milestones, and drive engineering delivery • Launch core provider-platform components and production-grade patient and provider applications • Implement QA automation, observability, operational workflows, AI-powered provider workflows, engineering standards, infrastructure, and development velocity

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience • 4+ years in a technical leadership role; player-coach experience strongly preferred • Proven track record of personally building and delivering production systems • Experience using AI-powered solutions such as Claude Code to deliver quality software in a highly regulated environment • Experience applying LLMs and/or agentic workflows in real-world applications • Deep expertise in AWS and modern cloud architecture • Strong full-stack experience, such as React/Angular with Node.js/TypeScript or similar • Proficiency in Python and SQL • Experience designing APIs and integrating with complex external systems • Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship • Must currently reside in the United States
