📋 Description

• Review clinician-entered charge suggestions for obstetric and GYN services • Resolve coding edits and charge-entry coding errors • Validate charge accuracy and make coding corrections when documentation identifies discrepancies or improvement opportunities • Manage coding queues • Assign and sequence diagnoses and procedures according to ICD-10-CM Official Coding Guidelines, CPT Assistant, Physician at Teaching Hospital Rules, and Evaluation and Management Documentation Guidelines • Support accurate charge capture • Analyze and report errors, trends, and findings • Compose reports using Microsoft Excel and Word • Interpret regulatory and payer rules concerning coding • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Certified AAPC Coder • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience • Experience with billing, collections from insurance companies and patients, insurance follow-up, and charge entry • Knowledge of revenue cycle management processes • Ability to work with eBridge, Putty, and Lyra software • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 Office suite and moderate Excel skills • Ability to compose reports using Microsoft Excel and Word • Ability to interpret regulatory and payer rules and directives concerning coding • Ability to work in a high-volume environment while producing quality work • Strong interpersonal and telephone communication skills • Ability to work independently and solve problems • Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities • Strong attention to detail, including clinical data, medical terminology, and disease processes • Strong working knowledge of HIPAA as it relates to the revenue cycle management process • Ability to work with highly confidential materials • High ethical standards • Dependable, responsible, and team-oriented • Effective interpersonal skills when interacting with OB hospitalists and personnel
