• Serve as the primary subject matter expert for the Information Technology team’s applications and technology • Collaborate with business analysts, architects, vendor partners, Product Owners, and IT teams to deliver complex applications and services • Enforce application and service architecture vision while safeguarding application integrity and security • Lead code and design reviews, analyze results, and recommend approaches for quality delivery • Support application development, API tooling, system design, and secure database access to RDBMS or NoSQL systems • Review architectural designs and requirements and provide technical input • Advocate for and support software applications as a functional subject matter expert • Identify technical risks and design contingency plans • Analyze operations and evaluate improvement options • Conduct security audits and guide teams through technical issues • Support governance, quality assurance, standards, and technology architecture compliance • Lead technology change and oversee or consult on technology implementation and modification activities • Create production-ready IT services for agile teams and oversee proofs of concept for emerging technology • Produce detailed designs, review developer implementations, and ensure quality practices such as automated unit, integration, and continuous integration tests • Create, review, and approve technical documentation • Lead technology strategy and roadmap development for the specialty area • Work with third-party vendors to validate technical aspects, assess feasibility, and develop reporting metrics, dashboards, and status reports • Coordinate operational processes including crisis management, support escalation, change management, release management, capacity management, and other ITIL processes • Analyze, plan, justify, schedule, and coordinate specialty-area administrative, operational, and financial initiatives, including TCO, optimization, and efficiency • Analyze development metrics and KPIs, provide root cause analysis for production defects, and minimize defect leakage • Own delivered-product quality and automate wherever possible with well-documented code development
• Bachelor's degree in Computer and Information Science, or equivalent 7–10 years of experience • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or Engineering, or 12–15 years or more without a bachelor’s degree • 5+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree or 12–15+ years without a bachelor’s across the software development life cycle • Expertise in at least one technology stack for designing, developing, testing, and/or delivering complex software, such as Java, .NET, iOS, Android, or Python • Excellent debugging, troubleshooting, and analytical skills • Ability to lead code and design reviews and daily/weekly meetings • Ability to facilitate quick and efficient technology resolutions for team members • Ability to collaborate with Architects and Managers to develop metrics and KPIs • Ability to analyze data and generate detailed reports focused on development metrics and KPIs • Ability to identify technical risks and form contingency plans • Ability to provide root cause analysis for production defects and minimize defect leakage into production • Ability to own product quality and automate wherever possible with well-documented code development • Knowledge of coding standards, static code analysis, quality gates, and software quality enforcement tools and techniques • Understanding of information principles and processes • Understanding of financial implications of design decisions • Understanding of software development life cycle methodologies, including waterfall, spiral, agile, rapid prototyping, incremental, synchronize and stabilize, and DevOps • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot multi-tiered applications, including SaaS and on-premises systems • Solid understanding of design patterns • Ability to identify performance bottlenecks and optimize application performance • Adaptability to new technology and forward-thinking approach to future technologies • Ability to estimate the financial impact of technology alternatives • Ability to quickly comprehend existing, new, and emerging technologies • Demonstrated ability to work well with others and be respected as a leader
