• Drive data-driven payroll operations and deliver actionable insights across payroll, timekeeping and labor distribution • Collaborate with customers and Payroll Reporting team members to design, develop, implement and support complex BI solutions • Develop, maintain and monitor metrics, dashboards and recurring reports • Analyze payroll, timekeeping and labor distribution data and provide technical assistance interpreting results • Create and maintain technical documentation, specifications and process flows • Provide leadership with accessible, actionable data and analytics • Identify reporting opportunities and create proposals with technical and functional specifications • Establish and maintain standard payroll, timekeeping and labor distribution reports and metrics • Provide data for financial modeling, payroll accruals, forecasting and budgeting • Ensure data accuracy and integrity across payroll systems and reporting outputs • Respond to information requests, collective bargaining agreement requests and public data requests • Develop and maintain SQL queries and reports supporting reviews and pay-period processing • Manage small systems and reporting projects using waterfall and agile methodologies • Create project plans, timelines, risk assessments, milestones and status reports • Coordinate project communications and deployment of deliverables • Improve payroll, timekeeping and labor distribution data structures and reporting capabilities • Identify process improvements through automation, system enhancements and data integration • Partner with HRIS, Finance and IT teams on implementations and upgrades • Develop compliance queries and reports aligned with federal, state, collective bargaining and OHSU requirements • Support internal and external audits • Monitor and enhance controls to mitigate operational and financial risk • Analyze trends, variances and anomalies and perform root-cause analysis on payroll discrepancies • Create and deliver presentations, education and training materials • Document business requirements, data architecture, processes and training materials • Act as subject matter expert for payroll, timekeeping and labor distribution data • Collaborate on reconciliations, accruals and financial reporting • Translate complex data into clear insights for leadership decision-making
• Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent education/experience • Five years of experience with database query, analytic and reporting tools • Three years of experience as a project manager for technical projects • Two years of Payroll experience demonstrating understanding of administrative systems, processes and human resources functional areas • Strong analytical, problem-solving and conceptual skills • Ability to use enterprise BI tools to write complex reports joining data from different systems and external data sources • Ability to build interactive dashboards • Ability to provide data-driven insights to non-technical audiences, including senior executive leadership • Ability to plan, organize and present training and presentations to diverse employee groups • Advanced experience with MS Office suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, Visio and Project • Ability to map Payroll, Timekeeping or Labor Distribution processes and understand source-system data storage, ETL and Framework Manager reporting structures • Strong problem-solving, organization, follow-through and time-management skills • Ability to prioritize work, meet timelines and maintain composure under pressure and changing conditions • Experience establishing effective working relationships across professional backgrounds and organizational levels • Preferred: Power BI experience • Preferred: IBM Cognos Business Intelligence Tools • Preferred: SQL/Database experience, including Oracle or SQL Server • Preferred: Technical documentation for reports and data/report models • Preferred: Advanced expertise with Oracle payroll and UKG Kronos systems • Preferred: Data modeling tools • Preferred: Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes and procedures
