📋 Description

• Act as the technical and domain expert alongside the Corporate/New Business sales team for customers with 300–1249 employees • Help customers understand the value of Okta's identity solutions • Understand customer challenges and business issues • Deliver product demonstrations aligned with customer needs • Answer product feature and technical questions from customers, partners, and Okta colleagues • Plan and deliver Proof of Concepts for complex customer use cases • Collaborate with Okta engineering teams on Proof of Concepts • Provide product enhancement feedback to product management • Share and learn best practices and reusable assets with other Solutions Engineers • Stay current on competitive analysis and market differentiation • Support executive briefings, conferences, user groups, and trade shows • Serve as a subject matter expert on product solutions and competitive knowledge when requested • Develop, position, and demonstrate product-specific solutions during sales cycles • Achieve quarterly and annual sales goals for an assigned territory • Advise diverse customers on the value of Okta's Identity Platform

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of pre-sales engineering experience in Identity and Access Management (IAM) • Strong understanding of IAM concepts, including OAuth 2.0, OIDC, and SAML • Experience with lifecycle management, role-based access control (RBAC), and provisioning/deprovisioning • Hands-on experience in web development (JavaScript, HTML, frontend frameworks), mobile development (iOS, Android), backend development (Java, C#, Node.js, Python, PHP, Ruby), or IP-based real-time communications • Experience with REST APIs, API Gateways, and SDKs • Experience deploying applications on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, or Vercel • Understanding of application security concerns, including password hashing, SSL/TLS, encryption at rest, XSS, and XSRF • Customer-facing experience; pre-sales, consulting, or support experience valued • Ability to communicate complex technical ideas, including on-the-fly whiteboard explanations • Elite communication skills and confidence presenting to highly skilled and experienced audiences • Territory management skills, including pipeline building and collaboration with sales counterparts • Diagramming experience for user journey flows and complex architecture diagrams • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, MIS, or a comparable field is preferred • Experience with Auth0, Auth0 FGA, or OpenFGA is not mandatory • Hands-on experience with Generative AI or LLM technology is not mandatory • Experience integrating with microservices, data lakes, or customer data platforms is not mandatory • Experience developing ReBAC or Fine-Grained Authorization models is not mandatory • Typically 25% travel
