📋 Description

• Shape complex, cross-system integrations, including partner/alliance integration APIs • Define reusable templates, standards, and automation for recurring operational work • Identify root causes and drive architectural, monitoring, or process fixes • Mentor team members, including non-engineers who write code and build automations • Partner with commercial, product, and engineering stakeholders to scope solutions and make technical trade-offs • Clarify ambiguous problems, scope work, and create executable technical plans • Identify risks, edge cases, security concerns, and downstream impacts; document knowledge in runbooks • Participate in the on-call rotation, triage and address member-support issues, and assist internal investigations

🎯 Requirements

• 5–8 years writing readable, tested, and efficient production code • Strong Ruby on Rails experience, or exceptional backend engineering experience in another language with willingness to ramp quickly on Rails • Experience with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL • Experience building and consuming APIs and integrations across service boundaries • Fluency with AI-assisted development and AI coding assistants • Experience building API-driven automation workflows with Tines, n8n, or similar • Track record of identifying inefficiencies and shipping solutions with measurable value • Solid debugging and optimization skills • Strong grasp of SDLC processes and frameworks • Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills • Experience in solutions engineering, implementation, or customer-facing technical roles • Experience mentoring engineers or leading projects • Experience with React or Vue is a bonus • Healthcare or regulated/data-sensitive domain experience is a bonus
