📋 Description

• Design, implement, and scale core infrastructure for reliability, performance, and security • Build and improve developer tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and workflows • Implement security-by-design controls that safeguard systems and data • Serve as a technical leader across teams, coaching engineers and driving platform-strategy alignment • Partner with product and engineering leaders to balance speed, cost, and resilience • Own systems, services, and tooling that enable product teams to ship quickly and safely • Contribute to customer-facing projects where platform capabilities are the product • Define best practices and guide cross-functional initiatives • Design and scale backend and infrastructure using Python, Django, AWS, and Terraform • Influence technical direction, architectural standards, and engineering operations • Work across internal tool development, infrastructure, and security • Contribute wherever needed in a dynamic startup environment

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent technical experience • 8+ years of hands-on Infrastructure & Platform Engineering experience • Proven track record of scaling cloud-native systems • Strong Python 3 expertise • Strong AWS expertise • Familiarity with event-driven architectures (Kafka or similar) • Familiarity with relational databases (Postgres, DynamoDB, MySQL, SQL Server, or similar) • Hands-on IaC tool experience (Terraform, Spacelift, CloudFormation), observability, monitoring, and incident response • Hands-on containerization and orchestration experience (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS) • Proven track record of improving DevEx through tooling, pipelines, and automation • Experience improving monorepo developer workflows (Bazel, Buck, Pants) • Knowledge of compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, etc.) and how to operationalize them • Experience leading security initiatives • History of mentoring engineers and shaping technical direction across teams • Transportation systems or scientific/analytics application experience is advantageous • Familiarity with dbt and DuckDB is valued
