📋 Description

• Own systems and product areas end-to-end as the go-to technical expert • Investigate, design, and execute solutions across distributed systems • Architect, build, and maintain highly available, scalable REST APIs and backend services • Drive system decoupling, modularization, and technical debt reduction • Build agentically using concurrent autonomous agent workflows and own the output • Track emerging AI tooling and practices and bring new techniques to the team • Help shape AI integration across engineering systems and workflows • Collaborate with product, data, and go-to-market teams in an async-first environment • Identify and eliminate single points of failure and improve system resilience • Improve engineering workflows, tools, and internal utilities

🎯 Requirements

• 6+ years of experience building large-scale backend systems and APIs • Active, daily use of AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or equivalent • Proficiency with Python, Go, React, and TypeScript • Experience with Kubernetes, AWS, Datadog, and relational/NoSQL databases • Ability to run agentic workflows autonomously and concurrently • Real-time tracking of AI tooling, new model releases, agentic workflows, and evolving best practices • Ability to critically evaluate AI output and verify its results • Ability to context switch quickly across concurrent workstreams • Experience with both 0-to-1 initiatives and complex existing systems • Strong command of relational and NoSQL databases, SQL, and database modeling • Familiarity building and observing applications on AWS; ideally Datadog or comparable observability tooling • Clear, direct communication in cross-functional and async teams • Strong technical tradeoff judgment informed by engineering best practices and business priorities
