📋 Description

• Develop and maintain backend systems on IBM i using RPG, SQLRPGLE, and CLP • Integrate IBM i applications with DB2 for i and enterprise systems • Work on individual product or system components through assigned tasks and tickets • Deliver reliable, tested code, including unit tests and CI/CD contributions • Track defects, resolutions, and bug fixes • Learn and apply agentic AI coding tools under senior guidance • Review AI-generated output before committing code • Collaborate with software engineers, product managers, QA, and cross-team partners • Participate in daily team stand-ups, sprint planning, and engineering guilds • Share on-call and escalation responsibilities • Engage in ongoing study of modern technologies, industry knowledge, and AI-assisted development practices

🎯 Requirements

• 0–5 years of industry experience in IBM i software engineering • Degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent industry or training experience • Foundational knowledge of RPG, SQLRPGLE, and/or CLP for IBM i • Understanding of SQL-based data access patterns • Ability to integrate IBM i applications with relational databases, including DB2 for i • Ability to deliver reliable, tested code, including unit tests and CI/CD contributions • Ability to critically evaluate AI-generated code for correctness, quality, and security • Demonstrated interest in learning and applying agentic AI coding tools such as Claude Code and GitHub Copilot • Ability to work collaboratively with engineers and cross-functional teams • Attention to detail and quality • Reliable internet connectivity and an effective remote-work space • Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality • Modern web or backend technologies such as Node.js or C#/.NET are a plus but not required
