📋 Description

• Design, build, and ship production generative AI features directly against LLM APIs • Implement prompt construction, structured output handling, tool/function calling, retrieval, context management, and failure handling • Build and maintain evaluation and regression harnesses for generative AI features • Integrate generative AI components with existing product services, APIs, and data models • Work with Hugging Face models and internally hosted inference engines, including serving-layer configuration and deployment • Design, build, and maintain API-based applications and services • Write and tune SQL for application state, feature data, evaluation datasets, and product analytics • Deploy and operate application components across VMs, containers, object storage, and RDBMS services, primarily in Microsoft Azure • Contribute to non-AI analytics product work when needed • Contribute to customer segmentation, churn forecasting, and lifetime value forecasting • Support internal initiatives using generative AI, models, and heuristics to increase organizational efficiency • Collaborate with product management, data engineering, and AI/Modeling teammates to translate requirements into shipped features • Participate in code reviews • Communicate progress, technical trade-offs, and blockers to teams and stakeholders • Write automated tests, including generative AI evaluation tests and ML model-evaluation tests • Monitor production AI applications for accuracy, latency, token consumption, and cost • Participate in production support as needed • Follow security, data handling, and change-management practices for sensitive financial data

🎯 Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional software development experience, including hands-on development of API-based applications and services deployed and used in production • At least 4 years of hands-on Python development experience • At least 2 years of substantive generative AI development at the LLM API level, including prompt design, structured outputs, tool/function calling, retrieval, and evaluation • At least two non-trivial generative AI applications personally helped build that are in production today • Ability to describe the problem, architecture, specific contribution, and evaluation/monitoring of production generative AI applications • Strong SQL skills, including joins, aggregation, window functions, and CTEs • Working understanding of RDBMS performance and role-based access controls • At least 4 years of experience across multiple resource types in a hyperscaler environment, including VMs, containers, object storage, and RDBMS services • Microsoft Azure preferred; equivalent AWS or GCP experience considered • Proficiency with version control practices and tools such as Git and/or Azure DevOps • Reachable professional references covering the claimed experience, including production generative AI work • At least one reference from each organization where production generative AI applications were built and deployed • References must confirm personal contributions, technical decisions, and production performance • Ability to work remotely in the United States on East Coast time, with an 8:30am ET start; limited PT exception at 9am ET / 6am PT • Legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship • Currently residing in the United States • Highly desirable: Hugging Face model experience; self-hosted LLM inference deployment; production inference operations; applications/UIs interfacing with self-hosted open-source LLMs • Nice to have: Amazon Bedrock or Microsoft Foundry; machine learning with Pandas or scikit-learn; Matplotlib, Seaborn, or Plotly; Azure SQL; PySpark; C#, Java, or Scala; React/TypeScript; banking, financial services, or regulated data experience
