📋 Description

• Design, build, and operate integration pipelines ingesting data from and pushing data to third-party APIs, webhooks, and custom endpoints • Transform, normalize, and map data payloads between SafelyYou’s internal schema and external partner specifications • Validate third-party data, segregate failed data, and automate anomaly resolution processes with third parties • Manage and execute complex data backfills and Go-Live integration pipelines for new customer rollouts • Write and maintain technical documentation and API specifications for internal engineering teams and external partners • Triage and troubleshoot integration failure modes, rate limits, and edge cases at scale • Build resilient retry mechanisms • Build systems and tooling enabling non-engineers to configure, monitor, and perform third-party integration backfills • Develop automated tests and validate payload outputs with ongoing pipeline monitoring • Work in an Agile environment to plan, track, and improve delivery of integration features and products • Collaborate with customer support, operations, and product teams • Provide technical support and participate in on-call rotation as needed • Work with R&D architects, data engineers, backend developers, and cross-functional teams to define and implement integration patterns • Act as the subject matter expert for integration patterns and identify architectural improvement opportunities

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in software, backend, or data engineering, preferably in a startup environment • Deep hands-on experience building, consuming, and operating integrations with REST APIs, webhooks, and third-party platforms • Strong programming proficiency in Python and SQL for building reliable data transformation and integration pipelines • Proven track record of handling complex data transformations, schema mapping, and payload normalization across disparate systems • Experience solving API failure modes and operational challenges at scale, including exponential backoff, dead-letter queues, and idempotency • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Experience writing technical documentation, ADRs, or API specs • Proficiency with modern data stack tools such as dbt and PySpark • Familiarity with workflow orchestration concepts and tools such as Airflow • Exposure to Terraform and cloud infrastructure such as AWS, Athena, RDS, and EKS • Experience with electronic health records and data privacy regulations such as HIPAA is a strong plus • Experience with HL7 data feeds and the FHIR API specification is a huge plus • Experience with remote work and distributed, async-first engineering teams • Candidates must be located in the United States or Canada
