📋 Description

• Lead a team of approximately five firmware and ML engineers • Provide hands-on technical leadership in designing, implementing, and optimizing high-performance production systems • Set technical direction for edge ML and embedded systems, including latency, power, memory, and model performance • Mentor engineers and guide architecture decisions • Partner with Product, Hardware, and Full-stack teams to take AI features from concept through device deployment • Improve AI products used by customers • Shape quarterly technical and product roadmaps with leadership • Balance product ambition with engineering health and make customer-impact tradeoffs • Build a culture of ownership, accountability, continuous improvement, and execution quality • Scale Samsara's engineering culture globally • Hire and develop an inclusive, engaged, high-performing team

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on execution-oriented technical management experience • 8+ years of experience in embedded systems and edge machine learning development • Proven track record managing a team of engineers that has shipped a mass production product • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a diverse, fast-paced, customer-focused environment • Experience deploying CV/ML models on edge devices in real-world applications • Experience working on products from concept to mass production • Proficiency in C/C++, Rust, or similar programming languages • Proficiency in GStreamer, Google MediaPipe, or similar edge AI/media frameworks • Experience with data analysis using Databricks, SQL queries, or Tableau • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent field
