📋 Description

• Own the CI/CD foundation for AI-assisted and agentic development • Build hardened pipeline gates, automated testing, security scans, performance and cost regression guards, and progressive delivery with automated rollback • Provide ephemeral per-PR environments and local tooling, including isolated databases seeded from realistic data • Build centralized logging, monitoring, and alerting across AWS • Lead security engineering, remediate vulnerabilities, and automate code scanning, secrets management, and access control • Migrate hand-built AWS resources to Infrastructure as Code • Separate production and pre-production accounts • Establish tested backup and disaster recovery with defined RTO and RPO targets • Build paved-path self-service tooling and standardized blue/green, canary, and feature-flag releases • Mentor engineers and model Samsara’s cultural principles • Build and operate AI agents for SRE alert triage, incident investigation, and self-healing remediation • Contribute to backend development and ship customer-facing product features alongside platform work • Champion Samsara’s cultural principles as the company scales globally and across new offices

🎯 Requirements

• 6+ years of professional software, infrastructure, DevOps, platform, or site reliability engineering experience • Hands-on AWS production experience, including IAM, Lambda, networking, and multi-account organizations • Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation • Experience designing and operating CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or Buildkite • Experience with automated testing, static analysis, coverage enforcement, deployment gates, blue/green releases, canary releases, feature flags, and reliable rollbacks • Strong Python development experience across services, tooling, and automation • Working familiarity with JavaScript-based stacks • Experience with Docker and ECS, EKS, or Kubernetes • Cloud security posture management experience or familiarity with Wiz, Semgrep, Snyk, or similar tools • Experience building observability into distributed systems, including centralized logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting • Experience with Sentry, Datadog, CloudWatch, or Grafana • Track record of designing, building, and operating production infrastructure end to end • Experience using AI-powered development tools such as Claude, Cursor, Codex, or Copilot in a daily workflow • Experience building and shipping customer-facing product features • Ideal: experience with mutation testing, ephemeral preview environments, automated rollback, paved-path tooling, cloud cost management, performance regression detection, capacity planning, disaster recovery, localization pipelines, Salesforce, Contentful, Hightouch, Databricks, SLIs, and SLOs
