📋 Description

• Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering organization • Partner with the CTO and company leaders to define and execute technical strategy and engineering roadmap • Own engineering execution across multiple teams • Translate customer and business needs into technical strategies and solutions with Product and Design • Provide technical leadership on architecture, scalability, reliability, security, and engineering quality • Evolve systems and development practices for rapid growth and scale • Establish and improve engineering processes, standards, and practices • Build a culture of ownership, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement • Recruit, develop, and retain engineering talent, including engineering managers and senior technical leaders • Identify and remove technical and organizational bottlenecks • Balance near-term delivery with long-term platform, infrastructure, architecture, and technical-quality investments • Ensure reliable and secure engineering operations for a financial services company serving millions of customers • Stay close to technology and product to make informed decisions and provide technical leadership

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with significant experience leading engineering teams and organizations • Proven experience managing and developing engineering managers and senior engineers • Strong Computer Science and software engineering fundamentals • Track record of building and scaling reliable, customer-facing software products • Experience designing and evolving distributed systems and engineering organizations as products and companies scale • Strong technical judgment and pragmatic architecture and technology decision-making • Ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical audiences • Strong product sense and ability to connect technical decisions to customer and business outcomes • Hands-on, low-ego leadership style with ownership and execution focus • Passion for software quality, engineering excellence, and reliable high-performing teams • Experience with fintech, banking, payments, lending, or highly regulated financial systems preferred • Experience building products at significant consumer scale preferred • Experience leading teams through rapid growth or organizational change preferred • Experience with mobile-first consumer products preferred • Experience with cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, and modern distributed systems preferred • Experience balancing security, risk, compliance, reliability, and product velocity preferred • Technologies used include Kotlin, React Native, TypeScript, gRPC, Protocol Buffers, Postgres, JOOQ, BigQuery, Kubernetes, and Terraform
